Our Grassroots Solution

"Surakshit Basti" is more than a patrol; it is a holistic approach to building a resilient, crime-resistant local ecosystem. In response to increasing vulnerabilities, we are taking a structured, two-pronged approach: Proactive Vigilance and Preventative Education.

From conducting street safety patrols at dusk to training children to spot online predators, we are tackling safety on both physical and digital fronts.

2. Key Action Areas (Structured & Measurable)

This initiative is driven by local volunteers and focuses on four specific, impactful pillars. These are the Measurable Improvements we are making:

Pillar 1: Proactive Vigilance (Vigilance & Support)

Action: Conducting regular street safety patrols in poorly lit areas at dusk to deter crime. We provide volunteers with essential equipment (e.g., Sanjha Aangan whistles from image_10.png) and clear patrol routes.

Impact: A visible deterrent and a network of supportive adults.

Pillar 2: Preventative Education (Health & Education)

Action: Establishing the Substance Abuse Awareness Help Desk as a permanent fixture. Here, families can receive confidential counseling on low-cost, high-protein nutrition, and access addiction recovery resources.

Impact: Early intervention and a pathway to recovery.

Pillar 3: Women's Empowerment (Health & Human Rights)

Action: The Sanjha Aangan counseling center  has been transformed into a temporary clinic, or Safe Haven & Counseling Center, focusing on domestic violence prevention. We provide direct access to legal services vigilance and support through our partnership with the Swasthya Seva mobile unit 

Impact: Immediate safety and legal protection.

Pillar 4: Digital Inclusion & Safety (Education & Human Rights)

Action: Launching the Child Cyber-Safety Watch at the GYAN SEVA mobile unit . We are focusing on teaching children to spot online scammers and understand their digital rights, using clear, non-animated educational charts.

Impact: A generation that is safe, informed, and resilient online.
